The sermon for this Sunday is “The Drawing Power Of Calvary” (John 12:30-32)
It is about how the soul is convicted of sin and drawn to salvation.
Pastor Page preaching on the what causes people to be ungrateful. Using the story of the 10 Lepers that Jesus healed but only one of them came back to thank him (Luke 17:11). Using other passages Pastor Page gives several examples of how people put other things ahead of Christ and thus fail to be grateful for the blessings of God.
Pastor Page teaches how God’s commands are not grievous (1 John 5:3) but that God cares for his followers while Satan is out to destroy God’s people in hopes of preventing the Gospel from being spread.
Brother David Duffett standing in for Pastor Page who is out of town encouraged us to work together grow in the Lord so that every year we can look back on what God has done in our life and say We’ve never seen God work that much in out lives.
Brother David Duffett preached to us on Sunday 7/7/2013 and gave an outstanding sermon that demonstrated the similarities between Spiritual Famine and the famine in II Kings chapter 6 starting at verse 24 and how we can get out of it.
Our country is going the wrong way in so many areas. Why are we having such problems and what can be done about them? Nehemiah was a lowly cup barer, not an engineer or stone mason yet he was able to lead a remnant of Jews to rebuild the city walls of Jerusalem. While a successful venture it was not without conflict as the enemies of the Jews were not happy that the walls were being rebuilt and did everything they could to stop the progress. We as Christians need to learn from Nehemiah that with God on our side anything is possible regardless of our personal skills and abilities.
